My last week in Ms. Mulchays classroom was fun. All the kids were happy that it was close to Christmas. It was a good experience for me to be in a classroom with all 1st graders because it helped me realize that maybe a teacher isnt what I should do. I thought I would be good at teaching, but being in a classroom I understood that I wasn't made for this career. I had a really fun time in the class, the kids were always nice to me and called me Ms. Cash. Ms. Mulchay was a very nice teacher, she would always be there when I didn't know how to handle a situation in the classroom.

Last week! Oh goodness, was this a fun time. I did my experiment with the students. What I did was brought in an ice cube tray and asked the aide to put it into the lounge freezer, because Mrs. Montgomery was not there. Monday was crazy. I had to keep the kids occupied for the sub. They were hyper. They kept getting up and I would be like, “SIT DOWN!” Then, I had to keep getting them to do their work. Their behavior throughout the week was pretty bad. They got changed to a yellow as a whole class. They were just so load. I would tell them to be quiet or sit down and they would not listen, so Ms. Montgomery had to yell at them. I finally just took them to do the experiment, so they would not be so bored. First, I took the four second graders. I brought thermometers, a bowl, and a work sheet. On the work sheet, I did little hypothesis and at the end conclusions. Then I had on side Celsius and the other Fahrenheit. I had them hold it in their hand and see it go up. Then, I helped the read the degrees. Then I put it in the ice bucket and let them watch the red line go down. They really, really liked it. I also made them be patient so I could to 60 seconds with them, quietly. They participated and did what I asked. After I finished with the second graders, I went with the little kindergarten to show her. She liked watching it go down in the cold ice. So sat with it for about five minutes, I also let her hold the thermometer and let it warm up. After she was done, I asked the third grader Chris if he want to see it. First, he was all grumpy. He was not feeling good that day. So I was like, “I’m sure you would like it.” So I sat down next to him and just set the ice and the thermometer, and boy, did he enjoy it! He spent like ten minutes just watching it. He said he wanted to be a scientist when he grows up. It was cute, the aide said, “You’re doing to be a mad scientist?” And he was like, “No I’m going to be a happy scientist.” It really made my day. Then I went with Brandon and he was more experimental. So he was like, “what if we hold it by the lamp? Will it go higher?” So we tried it out. And it shot straight to the top. So the experiment was really fun. So the last day, I did the regular things, I read AR books with them, helped them with work. They made me cards, they were really cute. Before I left, I gave the teacher and the aide presents, and the kids candy canes and pencils. When I was leaving, Gage was like, “Who’s crying?” Nobody was. I think it was just really sad for him. They did not give me a hug like sometimes when I leave. But that’s okay, when people leave, especially with children with special needs, it’s better to not get too sad. And I’m callous, as it is. So it was a nice good bye. I will always remember them. It was a nice experience to see older students with special needs. Then the usual preschoolers I’ve worked with. Hopefully someday at Wal-Mart I run into them again. This will not be my last class, nor was it my first, but the fifth one of my career rode. There is more to come, but what I learned in this class I will take with me throughout life. And that’s all you could ask for. –Miss Emily Casella

LAST WEEK! Saddest thing ever..
I got to do my lesson this week and we played subtraction bingo. It went so well. The kids loved it and I had a blast being in front of them for the whole hour. And then for my last day my teacher had a little party for me. The kids were so cute and everyone got snacks and juice boxes. They also made me a book of little one pagers from each of my students. Every kid each wrote a page and made a picture about me. I almost cried because each kid also read what they wrote to me. Then my teacher gave me a gift from here and the assistant it included a gift card to the movies, fuzzy socks, and a box of body butters. I felt soo extremely loved and I can't wait to go back for the party.

This week was sad, cause it wqs the last. I actually liked some of the kids in this class! I helped them wrap presents this week for the Angel Tree. That was NOT the easiest of things to do with a bunch of seven year olds. They didnt do much this week, Mrs. Cruz didnt want to start new lessons with break being so close. So it was a pretty slow week.
I was genuinely upset when the last day came.
